Traditional agricultural producers face adjustment pressure from a range of sources in many developing countries and camel herders in the South Gobi of Mongolia are no exception. We have commenced a small program designed to assist in the introduction of modern management practices without disrupting traditional values in an effort to make bactrian camel herding more sustainable and to ensure that this unique animal is maintained as a pivotal part livestock herding in the South Gobi.
